Student Representatives Attending the Hong Kong Shue Yan University Hangzhou Innovation Vitality Themed Study Tour
于2025年5月13日，非常荣幸杭州政协赞助本校23名学生参加，为期5天的2025杭港青少年交流共创计划，旨在深化杭港两地青少年交流合作，助力港澳青少年深度感知中华优秀传统文化与历史底蕴。活动得到高度重视，杭州市政协主席马卫光、副主席林革、秘书长柴世民，香港树仁大学学术副校长陈茜，以及香港杭州政协之友联谊会会长胡惠康均出席此次活动，为活动奠定了坚实的交流基础。
On May 13, 2025, we were honored that the Hangzhou Chinese People’s Consultative Congress sponsored our 23 students from Hong Kong Shue Yan University to participate in the five-day “2025 Hangzhou-Hong Kong Youth Exchange and Co-creation Program.” This initiative, designed to deepen the exchange and cooperation between the young generations of Hangzhou and Hong Kong, also serves as a bridge for young people from Hong Kong to gain an in-depth understanding of China’s rich traditional culture and profound historical heritage.
The event received significant attention, with the attendance of MA Weiguang, Chairman of the Hangzhou Political Consultative Conference; Lin Ge, Vice Chairman; and CHAI Shimin, Secretary-General. The group of students was led by Professor Selina CHAN, Academic Vice President of HKSYU, along with Hu Huikang, President of the Hong Kong Hangzhou Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Friendship Association. Their participation not only enhanced the significance of the event but also established a solid foundation for future exchanges.
本次活动引导我们从文化走向现代科技，从文化的根源延伸至现代科技的探索。带领同学们在艺术、学术、文化和科技等多维度，全方位领略杭州及中国深厚的历史文化积淀与前沿科技创新成果。在这个过程中，大家深刻体会到“科技腾飞离不开文化载体的支撑”这一内涵——例如，3D建模等技术生动诠释了艺术与传统文化的当代价值，使得“科技与文化相辅相成”不再是抽象的概念，而是可触可感的实践体现。
This study tour seamlessly blended cultural exploration with modern technological discovery, allowing students to gain a comprehensive and multi-faceted understanding of Hangzhou’s—and indeed China’s—rich historical and cultural heritage, alongside its state-of-the-art scientific and technological innovations.
Through immersive experiences in art, academia, culture, and technology, participants delved deep into the principle that “the advancement of science and technology is inseparable from the support of cultural carriers.” Technologies like 3D modelling were utilized to vividly showcase the contemporary significance of art and traditional culture, transforming the abstract concept of “mutual complementarity between science, technology, and culture” into a tangible reality.

到了中国国石文化艺术馆，说实话我和大家第一次看到这么巨大的玉石摆件，而且很多摆件的呈色都很美，雕工分常的细致，外观也非常的多完化。 看到了许多作品像“与石头商量”一样，根据每块玉石的天然纹理、色彩分布来设计题材。 馆里不仅有传统题材，还有不少现代风格作品。 完全跳出了「玉石必须雕龙凤」的框架。 这次来到这里参观看到这么多玉石摆件对我来说很新颖很震撼的。 也谢谢各位领导给予我们这次机会大开眼界。
When we reached the China National Stone Culture and Art Museum, it was our first encounter with such massive jade ornaments. Their vivid colors, intricate craftsmanship, and diverse forms were captivating. Many pieces embraced the “consulting with the stone” philosophy, shaping themes according to the jade’s natural patterns and hues. The collection spanned traditional motifs and modern designs, shattering the myth that jade artistry was confined to dragon and phoenix carvings. This visit was a thrilling revelation, and I’m grateful to the leaders for this eye-opening opportunity.

在余杭区杭州未来科技城城市展馆，5G技术正被用于良渚古城遗址的数字化保护; 浙江大学的科研团队则将VR技术应用于古文献的整理与研究。 最令人印象深刻的是中国美术学院的「黑悟空」游戏艺术展，它完美诠释了如何用虚幻引擎技术重新演绎《西游记》这一经典IP，让传统文化以更年轻化的方式触达Z世代。
At the Urban Exhibition Hall of Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City in Yuhang District, 5G technology is being applied to the digital preservation of the Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins; meanwhile, the research team of Zhejiang University has put VR technology into use for the collation and research of ancient documents. Most impressively, the “Black Wukong” Game Art Exhibition held by the China Academy of Art perfectly interprets how to reinterpret Journey to the West — a classic IP — through Unreal Engine technology, enabling traditional culture to reach Gen Z in a more youthful way.

Our initial understanding of Hangzhou began at the New Era Consultative Democracy Practice Center of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Here, we gained an in-depth understanding of the development course and innovative practices of Hangzhou’s consultative democracy and truly felt how democratic decision-making practically serves the people and benefits people’s livelihood. This experience has led me to form fresh thoughts and insights into the diversified participation in social governance and democratic mechanisms.
