International Summer Programmes 2024 – University of Leicester
Introduction
International Summer Programmes are organised by the English Language Teaching Unit, University of Leicester. The following three 3-week programmes combine general and academic English classes with subject-specific content, as well as a varied social programme where you will meet and socialise with other students.
The on-site summer school is one of the shortlisted summer programmes eligible for HKSYU’s credit-bearing Summer Abroad Scheme (GEC206). Please note that credit transfer is NOT acceptable for summer programmes.

Submission of Application
- Check and ensure that you fulfill the admission requirements.
- Submit your applicationto the University of Leicester:

Leicester Discovery International Summer Programme
English for Business International Summer Programme
- Fill in the online form of the International Unit for us to keep track of who has applied.
- The International Unit will assist you in preparing the official academic transcript, and brief you on issues related to summer programmes, but you are responsible for submitting your application to the programme organiser before the deadline, paying for the programme fee, arranging accommodation, securing a proper visa (if applicable), purchasing air tickets and insurance, etc.

| Means-tested SubsidyThose receiving means-tested student financial assistance from the Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose families are receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) are eligible to apply for the Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange forSubsidy on Exchange for Post-secondary Students (SSE): With the United Kingdom as the destination and 19 days in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme on this summer school programme is HK$14,000.The amount for an eligible student is calculated by the approved level of student finance (in terms of percentage of full grant) to the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme.Each student will only be eligible for assistance under the SSE ONCE throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong, irrespective of the amount of subsidy received. |
