PACES is a three-week international summer school designed for undergraduate students who would like to improve their English skills while exploring European, British, and American culture in an international academic environment. The programme combines:

  • Two weeks of academic activities including an intensive English course and seminars on topics such as European Union institutions, British and American culture, collective memory, Shakespeare, and linguistic diversity.
  • One week of cultural programme including study trips across Poland (e.g., Kraków, Warsaw, Zakopane, Wieliczka Salt Mine, Sandomierz) and a visit to Berlin.

Submission of Application

  • Step 1: Check and ensure that you fulfil the admission requirements.
  • Step 2: Fill out the online form for internal tracking. It allows us to assist with your application more effectively.
  • Step 3: Submit your application to Adam Mickiewicz University.
  • Step 4: You should receive the Letter of Acceptance (LoA)/confirmation once the payment and application are approved.
  • Step 5: Please apply for the related Visa (if applicable) once you receive the LoA. Do remember to allow sufficient time for the visa application.
  • If you need Proof of Student Status/Transcript for application, please apply for the documents through the Registry here.

Means-tested Subsidy

Undergraduate students receiving means-tested student financial assistance from the Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose families are receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) are eligible to apply for the Means-tested Subsidy on Exchange to “Belt and Road” Regions for the Post-Secondary Students (Means-tested SSEBR) of the Education Bureau.

With Poland as the destination and 20 days in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme for this summer school programme is HK$14,000. The amount for an eligible student is calculated by the approved level of student finance (in terms of percentage of full grant) to the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme. Each student will be eligible for assistance under the Means-tested SSEBR only TWICE throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong, irrespective of the amount of subsidy received.

Non-means-tested Subsidy

All full-time and local undergraduate students are eligible to apply for Non-means-tested SSEBR

With Poland as the destination and 20 days in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme on this summer school programme is HK$4,200. Each student will be eligible to receive the Non-means-tested SSEBR only ONCE throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong.
