I became a member of multiple societies, such as the Casual Sports Society, International Society, and Walking Society in LJMU. Engaging in these events gave me the chance to interact with students from various nations, gain insights into diverse cultures, and participate in a wide range of experiences.

我最喜歡的一門課程是《中國電視劇發展簡史》。課程老師是一位優秀且幽默的老師，深受學生的尊重和喜愛。課上學習到很多電視劇的相關知識，讓我了解到這些娛樂現象背後的深刻含義，文字自身也有磅礴的生命力。這正契合了我來中國傳媒大學交換的初衷，希望能體會到文字、傳媒、娛樂三者碰撞發生的美好化學反應。

Miss my new friends so much!
I participated in Dance Club at CAU, where I experienced Korean culture, such as the Korean culture of “Second Round”(2차) and the Senior-Junior Relationship. One of my new friends brought me to the 1MILLION Dance Studio, a famous dance studio in Korea, and had dancing classes with me.

我修讀了《合唱與指揮》，除了學習合唱和指揮的知識，還與復旦的Lumos合唱團，分別在第32屆上海白玉蘭戲劇表演藝術獎頒獎晚會和復旦大學建校119周年校慶系列音樂會上同台演出，發掘了更多音樂興趣。復旦的作業形式十分多元，除了論文形式，還有製作音樂影片、寫週記和校錄墓誌銘等方式。

Gained a profound understanding of Austrian culture!
The ski trip to Flattach was my first skiing experience and an opportunity to form lasting friendships. Engaging in recreational activities added joy and camaraderie to my overall experience. Besides, exploring Hallstatt and Seegrotte Hinterbrühl with new friends provided a unique perspective on Austrian history and natural beauty.

Inspired me to be proactive with people!
The Head of the History Department reminded us not to forget to experience the nature and culture of Leicester and the UK. It was a very inspiring reminder, as he provided the most complete perspective of a country. This exchange experience has provided me with a wealth of knowledge in language, history, and fieldwork.

The most significant takeaway from this exchange experience was a boost in my confidence. I learned that shyness should never hinder one’s ability to form connections and communicate with others. Overcoming my initial hesitation, I actively engaged in conversations with Japanese people whenever the opportunity arose.

I used to live in single occupancy in the student hall. Initially, I felt lonely and missed my family and friends in Hong Kong, but I knew I had to get used to it. Living alone was a great opportunity for me to become more independent and learn to solve problems on my own.

I fully immersed myself in Oxford campus life and experienced its rich cultural heritage. Living and studying in the historic colleges allowed me to experience Oxford’s unique collegiate system and its intense academic atmosphere. Participating in traditional activities such as formal dinner and punting gave me deeper insights into Oxford’s campus culture.

During the program in Peking University, we had the opportunity to visit some famous sights, such as the Summer Palace and the Yuanmingyuan. There were vibrant cultural activities to let me experience down-to-earth lifestyles of Korean. One of my remarkable activities is wearing Hanbok (Korean traditional dress) in Gyeongbokgung Palace. Wearing Hanbok allowed me to truly feel connected to the country’s history and customs..

Get prepared to enter into other cultures!
Only Turkish was used in the library. Google Translate was the most helpful tool for handling laundry, special requests, and complicated questions. We should not feel disappointed or defeated when problems occur. Turkish people were patient to help us out as long as we communicated in an open-hearted and polite manner.

Delightful Istanbul 2023 Summer School
Meeting friends from over 20 regions!
During the summer program, we had a Bad Taste Party. I dressed up as usual, and my friend asked me to change my clothes to look even uglier. In the end, the winner of the party wore an outstanding bright green dress with a pair of funny socks. It was a special moment experiencing the culture in Europe.

Being an “interesting German”!
The 10-hour excursions each day were both fulfilling and rewarding. What impressed me the most was visiting the University of Munich, known for producing the most Nobel laureates in the world. Additionally, the University of Freiburg provided us with opportunities to communicate with top talents from the Departments of Physics, Medicine, and Philosophy.

A guest speaker from Syria shared his experience of fleeing Syria and being displaced across multiple countries. His sharing reminded me that everyone should pay attention to and support individuals seeking refuge in times of conflict and adversity, contributing to the establishment of a more inclusive and just world.

我有幸參與數位中國人民大學教授的講談，其中《中華文明的起源與形成》講座，教授透過生動的故事和具體的例子，介紹了中國古代文明的重要里程碑和影響因素。這讓我對中國的歷史和文化有了更全面的認識，同時激發了我對中國古代文明的進一步研究趣。更參觀了國家博物館和故宮博物院，我能近距離觀察中國歷史的文化寶藏，並深入了解中國的歷史和藝術。
